Restorations

Restorations of vintage and antique pieces are our specialty. While the ultimate goal of a restoration is completely up to the owner, we try to follow a few basic rules/guidlines/concepts:

 - Keep as many original parts as possible, in as original-condition as possible

Try to repair a part as invisibly as possible. A repairer leaving their own mark on a restoration is something we consider bad practice

 - If the repair of a part is simply not possible, try to find an original replacement part, or find a movement of similar make and year to scavenge original parts from

 - If all else fails, fabricate a part as close to the original as possible, in close to the same type of original materials as possible (i.e. cast brass, period correct alloys, etc)
